Top 2010 Wedding Style Trends: Laura & Jim's Roof Top Reception

TheKnot.com just released thier wedding trend predictions for 2010. Topping the list, vintage glamour from the 50's and 60'. I immediately thought of this stunning wedding designed by Williamson County Weddings' principal planner Amy Parman last fall in Nashville, TN. I definitely knew Amy and her clients, Laura & Jim were fashion forward, but who knew they would be setting the tone for 2010's wedding style!

While you can see the vintage glam in the colors and details, you will just have to imagine the big band playing the background. Thanks to the Blue Tones, this wedding was swinging well into the evening for a celebration that we will always remember.

A Suprise Birthday Party at CJ's Off the Square

Horray for Birthdays!

Who doesn't like suprises? I know some people say they don't, but when the suprise involves amazing food by Constant Craving Catering, Gigi's Cupcakes and CJ's Off the Square, I think they might change thier minds.

One of my good friends and former neighbors, Jen Cook (of the photography duo The Photographix) recently planned a suprise birthday party for her mom's 60th...and it was full of suprises! Mom had no idea about what was in store for her when a Rolls Royce pulled into her driveway and escorted her to CJ's Off the Square, when Jen and her sisters had an elaborate dinner party waiting for her. Friends and family from all over the country were in attendance and as you can see from the look on her face, mom was floored!

The girls even wrote, directed and filmed a pupet show for thier mom based on her life story. Talk about creative!

Jennifer & Steven - A Beautiful Spring Wedding!

Even a year and a half later, Jennifer & Steve's wedding here at CJ's Off the Square remains one of our favorites. They were such a warm couple, so in love, and we were nearly sad on their wedding day because it meant we wouldn't have an excuse to see them on a regular basis! We especially loved being able to work with Jennifer from beginning to end, from her invitations to the getaway car. She trusted us with every detail and we loved bringing them to life for her!

Many thanks to Chuck at Arlund Imagery for sharing their wonderful pictures with us.

(and are those not the cutest flower girl and ring bearer you've ever seen?!)

Caroline & Chris - September 27

Another fall weekend and another beautiful wedding at CJ's! Caroline and Chris were a wonderful couple to have with us -very in love and very exctited about their upcoming wedding. I especially loved the colors Caroline chose to work with, which were pewter and burgandy. A first for me, and I thought it turned out stunning!

We were delighted to have Marcia and Cade of Inara Studios with us again, always a pleasure!

Ellen & Brandon - August 9, 2008

CJ here with the latest news and inside look at what is new and exciting from Williamson County Weddings & Events. August has been a surprisingly busy month for us here at WCW: In addition to four weddings, we also have an album launch party for artist Chris Tomlin on the calendar as well as preparation for the Enchanted Bride show at Cheekwood coming up on Sunday, September 7. Check back on our blog for more photos from our August events as well as what is new from the WCW crew.

Here is an inside view of my most recent event, a wedding for clients Ellen and Brandon on August 9, 2008. I just loved this couple - laid back and excited about a fun, relaxed but formal wedding and reception for 250 of their closet family and friends. Many of their friends and family were from out of state so the pressure was on to show some down home TN hospitality. The ceremony was held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Murfreesboro, where Ellen & Brandon now call home after relocating to TN from Ohio.

Ellen & CJ get ready for the moment of truth.

Ellen chose bright, bold summer colors to compliment and black and white polka dot theme. Every aspect of this wedding revealed a part of Ellen & Brandon’s personality. The beautiful colors were playful and elegant. Each bridesmaid carried a different, monochromatic bouquet and the groomsmen wore coordinating ties and boutonnières.

The reception was held later that evening at the Marriott Hotel, Vanderbilt. The polka dot motif was continued with the use of black and white paper lanterns hung over the dance floor and stunning centerpieces of yellows, blues, oranges and greens. Ellen & Brandon wanted their guests to feel as lucky as they were and placed lottery tickets at each place setting to kick the night off with lady luck. The delightfully dotted wedding cake was a traditional white cake and served along side strawberry and chocolate sheet cakes created by The Bake Shoppe.

The moment dinner service was complete, Jason Middleton of Middleton Entertainment really got the party going by playing some of the bride & groom’s favorite songs as well as crowd favorites all night long. I can’t remember when I saw the dance floor so packed! Ellen, a graduate of University of TN, had to have a rowdy rendition of “Rocky Top” to satisfy her newly found TN roots. There was some serious stompin’ matched only by the enthusiasm of the Ohio State fans (Brandon’s alma mater) when “Hang On Sloopy” came on. We had so much fun planning this event with Ellen and Brandon over the past several months…it is hard to believe it is over!

Thanks to the following vendors for making this reception such a success for Ellen & Brandon: Michael Howard Photography, Southern Events, Nashville Event Lighting, Middleton Entertainment, Eye Design Florist, The Bake Shoppe.
