Invitation of the Week
One of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process is helping our clients select their invitations. We carry some of the best paper products in the country and it is so much fun to find a creative way to bring the look and feel of both the couple and the wedding into a printed piece.
I especially love this design by Checkerboard that features the couple's wedding colors of rich, french blues and creams. The formal monogram is gorgeous and can easily be repeated in all of their wedding stationary from thank you notes to programs.
I hope you enjoy it too!

Invitation of the Week: Letterpress Details at a Great Price
Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top, will someone order this darling invitation! We just love the soft romance of the vintage garland details hand pressed into each card. With pale peachy pinks and taupes, this is a gorgeous look for any season.
The letterpress details gives this a soft and intimate feeling while the thermography printing of your own wording makes this incredibly affordable (compared to traditional 100% letterpress invitations). Here is the scoop:
Dimensions: 5.75 x 7.75
Printing: Letterpress graphic and raised thermographed text.
Paper type: Heavy weight eggshell cover stock with a felt finish.
Ink Color Shown: Brown
Price: Starts at about $400 for 100 invitations
Additional ensemble items include:
RSVP Cards, Reception Cards, Thank You Notes
Give me a call if you would like to see this lovely invitation in person. I would be so excited to introduce you to additional styles in this great line of affordable letterpress.

Green & Purple Pocket Invitations
The couple wanted to incorporate the colors of their wedding, purple and green, into all of their printed pieces while maintaining formality. Together, we designed this pretty ensemble including a photo Save the Date on rich Aubergine colored paper and printed in silver ink. The green grass in the photo provided the perfect touch of color to introduce Brandi & Jason's wedding style to friends and family. Who wouldn't "save the date" after getting such a beautiful card in the mail!
Stayed tuned for the programs....that is the next piece in the ensemble that we will be designing and I can't wait to see all three pieces together!

Even the best laid plans can have a curve ball thrown in at the last minute. When plans change, I suggest letting your guest know about it in style! When circumstances led to a time change for the ceremony, we created this beautiful postcard for Verity & John's guests and mailed it out approximately one month before the wedding. Again, keeping with the classic ecru paper and black ink, we added another vintage floral design that fit perfectly with style of the wedding.

If I had my way, I would create a menu card for every event. It is just such a perfect way to finish a place setting and also let your guests know what they are being served. Notice for Verity and John, we used the same aubergine paper and silver ink as we did on the Save the Dates, but a different vintage inspired design. Again, everything coordinates, but also stands alone. Considering context is very important. How and where your printed pieces will be used is an important consideration.

I hope article gives you some insight into creating a beautiful paper ensemble for your own wedding. Don't feel like everything has to be "matchy matchy." Just stick to the same color palette you are using for the entire event design and don't be afraid to try something a little bit different on each piece. Just consider the context in which each piece is being used when making your color selections and always remember - have fun! --CJ

Invitation of the Week
Okay, the coffee habit comes from super chilly winter mornings and I will have to ween myself back down to a cup or two soon. But all that aside, I can't wait to finish up some of my desk work so I can go outside and enjoy this beautiful day!
I thought I would start a new post series to highlight some of my favorite boutique items each week and brag a little on our clients who have such great taste in paper. I invite you to share your thoughts with us. Amy and I would love to see this blog become more interactive and dynamic so please share your comments with us.
Now on with the Invitation of the Week:
A while back, I mentioned that black and white with an accent color seemed to be the look for 2009 weddings. I also have to say that the reverse is true...using a bold color, and then accenting in black or white. Both create major impact and evoke an instant reaction when first revealed.
There is nothing subtle about either of these looks...and I think that is what appeals to so many of our clients.
Take a look at these bold and beautiful invites from our boutique. Don't you just want to RSVP right away!? I can tell that the couple who sends these out know how to have a great time and I wouldn't want to miss the big event!
What do you think? --CJ
