A Suprise Proposal

Now this is a guy who knows how to propose! About a month ago, we got a call from Paul who wanted to plan the perfect romantic, suprise proposal for his girlfriend.

Romance and suprises? What could be better! CJ's Off the Square was on the case!

The night of the proposal, Amy got to work creating the atmosphere on the pond terrace which included almost 200 candles, red roses and CJ headed to Carraba's in Cool Springs to pick up the couple's favorite meal to be served pond-side after Paul popped the question.

We carefully played our parts and hid in the kitchen until we we heard a gasp, follwed by a brief silence, and then lots of sqeeling! It was a big YES from Mandy!

I was just chatting with Amanda over at chloe & reese about thier new bridesmaid collection. Takako & Greg - A Video Montage

Many thanks to Jennifer at Dynamic Video for sharing this video of highlights from Greg & Takako's beautiful October wedding last fall. You can clearly see how much love was there that night - they are a couple truly in love and deeply loved by their friends and family. It was a fantastic night (even I teared up a bit during the wedding, and especially during Takako's moving speech to her parents) and I wish we could do it all again!

That's right - one year ago today we did our very first blog post here on WilCoWed's Blogspot, and what a year it has been! How about a trip down memory lane?

Both our Venue and Boutique have been featured in several national magazines - InStyle Weddings, People, Modern Bride, and Country People, as well as local favorite, Her Nashville!

Our very own lighting design team, Blake and Misty of Nashville Event Lighting, had their beautiful September wedding at CJ's Off the Square chosen as a special feature on wedding uber-website, TheKnot.com!

The best new wedding resource website out there, WeddingWire.com, awarded WCW&E and CJ's with Bride's Choice Awards in all three of our categories - Invitations, Venues, and Planning!

We debuted our two new fantastic websites, http://www.cjsoffthesquare.com/ and http://www.williamsoncountyweddings.com/!

With an exciting break from tradition, we were delighted to expand our portfolio outside of weddings with great events like Chris Tomlin's Gold/Platinum Party & Album Release at Ocean Way Studios and a 16th Birthday Blowout at the Cool Springs Marriott, among others!

And last but certainly not least, we have enjoyed the long desired rewards of the City of Franklin's Streetscaping Project that took place over the last few months. The new streets, brick sidewalks, historic streetlamps, and lovely landscaping have made our street even more of a gem.

Thank you to the THOUSANDS of visitors who have dropped by our blog (thousands! wow!) and those who follow us on a regular basis. We hope you've enjoyed our thoughts and happenings, and I can't wait to see what we'll have to look back on come next July 15th!

To remember her parents who had passed away, April chose this silver frame broach from our collection to honor their memory.

Make It Yours: Get inspired by April's idea to add a special photo or even a meaningful quote to your bouquet. The broach attached easily with ribbon.

Nothing completes a cake table like custom napkins. We used the flourish motif in all of April's printed pieces as well as the table linens and napkins for a cohesive look that wasn't over done or too busy. April ordered extra napkins to enjoy her wedding style at home in the months following the wedding. View this and other custom designs in our new portfoilio.

Celebration of Life

We are honored this morning to be hosting a Celebration of Life service here at CJ's Off the Square. Our event team has come together to use our skills in a new way, providing a stress-free, beautiful, and unique service, allowing the friends and family of the loved one to really appreciate and enjoy each other as they gather to remember and reflect. It has been a rewarding experience for us to assist clients in yet another important life event, and we're grateful for the opportunity.

Many thanks to Caprice at The Enchanted Florist for the flowers, Kelsey and John of Focal Point Cinematic for the photo montage and filming the service, Jill at Southern Events for the rental items, Blake at Nashville Event Lighting for the Audio/Visual, and of course our own CJ for putting together such a lovely atmosphere in a matter of days.
