Michelle & Joel - September 21

We promised you a closer look at this wedding several weeks ago, and here it is! We simply loved this wedding - it was an intimate brunch for 35 on a gorgeous Sunday morning.

Michelle really tied her details together by selecting a complete ensemble of printed pieces throughout the event - including invitations, menu cards, gift tags, programs, and napkins - all imprinted with the same motif and color scheme.

Their brunch included Swedish Pancakes and homemade Lingonberry jam and even gluten free muffins for some specials guests.

Joel, a fantastic photographer (check out his blog at http://hartzphotographic.blogspot.com/!), was surprised with a completely edible model of his Canon 5D camera by Maples Wedding Cakes, complete with all the buttons and knobs!

Unexpected First Dance Songs

In the wedding business, you develop a sort of immunity to the Electric Slide and Brick House. Even "At Last," regardless of who is singing it, has lost its shine. Amy and I are both music industry veterans and big time music fans so we like to thing of ourselves as up to speed on what is new and interesting when it comes to pop music. We are always happy to make suggestions for our clients when they need help finding the perfect first dance song but I have to admit, some of our clients where pretty original this year so we thought we would pay them tribute with this mix of our favorites from 2008.
